The Hope of a Nation Poster Series: WPA-Era Propaganda – Part 2
I’ve adored these posters for years, which is why they were the subject of my first blog post on Unusual Offerings. Zander and I picked them up at an estate sale in the late 1980s from a couple who found them when remodeling an old schoolhouse. Designed to hang in American classrooms, the posters were intended to be swapped weekly by teachers throughout the school year. Here’s the balance of our collection, and we hope you think they’re as cool and timeless as we do. Which is your favorite? Can you come up with new captions to accompany the art?
All posters: 12.5” x 18.5”, 1929, 1937—C. R. Jackson Co.
