We’re Flipping, Too!
Earth Day was a perfect excuse to bargain hunt at the Elephant’s Trunk Flea Market. Most vendors offer second-hand goodies looking for new homes, and the customers never know what they’ll find. All seemed normal, if a bit slower than usual for those of us eager to get on the field to set up.
The reason for the delay was explained as soon as we saw the Flea Market Flip film crew making their first appearance of the season. They were close to us first thing in the morning, when they filmed introductory shots of the competitors for an upcoming episode. It gave us a rare glimpse behind the scenes. They visit several flea markets around the country, and Elephant’s Trunk is a regular stop for them.
While the customers couldn’t help noticing the film crews as they walked the field, it didn’t interfere with anyone’s shopping. It was fun seeing clusters of folks holding up their cell phones in the background. Vendors were out in full force with lots of new stock, and we enjoyed seeing familiar faces. The weather was perfect (albeit a bit windy), and everyone was in a great mood.
We hope to see you at the Trunk in 2018!

We enjoyed seeing the Flea Market Flip camera crew limbering up.
Zander stands to welcome folks approaching out of frame.
Zander was well positioned to meet and greet people as they came through the gate.
There was too much wind for our tent, so we made do with a single banner.
A lesson Valerie has to learn at least once a year.
